The closure system is fast and secure, thanks to the microadjustable BOA IP1 dial in an Overcurve pattern. Overcurve is a shoe construction that wraps around the ankle, following the natural misalignment of the ankle's two bony protrusions. This results in an asymmetrical shape that offers a unique fit and enhanced support.

The R4 outsole is moderately stiff, striking a balance between comfort and pedalling efficiency. It has a lower profile and is structurally optimized with a composition that includes 15% infused carbon fiber. The outsole also provides efficient ventilation and temperature management. The cleat positioning is slightly further rearwards compared to traditional settings, reducing knee compression and optimizing pedalling efficiency, especially in aggressive, forward aero positions.
